We are so pleased to welcome our newest shop to open over Easter; the Artisans Hub.
Ali Aldis is the founder of local business ‘The Soy Wax Candle Company’ and was looking to expand her business, bringing her to us at Blake House Craft Centre. Ali will not only be selling her candles here though, but you will also be able to see how she makes them here onsite before they are then sold in the shop.
What is even more exciting though for us is that in addition to Ali’s own soy wax candles, she is opening up her shop to a wide range of other local talented artisans! The shelves have been filling up fast and you will find some really cute and cuddly teddy bears, macramé mobiles, jesmonite dishes and coasters, as well as a full rail of handmade, ethical clothing and accessories from Bouncing Bee.
There are some beautiful linocut prints and a collection of local town poster designs as well as a variety of hand stitched notebooks. Silver jewellery can be found made by Eco Jewellery and also sea glass jewellery from Florrie May Studios, or why not try the pillow mists from Ajora… the list goes on!
We love the eco friendly ethos of the shop too, the unique collection of gifts and homeware on offer here are all about sustainability, which is echoed around the centre by a number of our shops now who are passionate about what they can do to help our planet! Remember that when you shop local, you will be doing your bit to help too.
